Softball: A Failure of Organizational Risk-Taking

Dear People,

Let the record show that after inexplicably caving in to my nefarious inner-pussy, the vile layer of gray, altostratus clouds of which I wrote you Sunday morning did not dump its load as I had assumed it would, but instead just hovered there for six more long and taunting hours—dark, dry and shamelessly deceptive. Even more tragic, Peter called me by cell at 11:08 to ask why on earth I had cancelled the game, for at that very moment he was gently roaming on the verdant puddle-free grasses of Codornices itself. It’s clear that he was both confused and frightened, and yet he still stoically bore witness to an undeniable fact: At the time that it counted most, our cherished field was a basically playable testament to the transformative genius of truly superb drainage.

Truth be told, I hadn’t checked it since the previous afternoon, and yet because I was lazy, craven and simply unworthy of your aerobic love or trust, I needlessly destroyed the one weekly endeavor that gives just a smidgen of meaning to your otherwise pointless lives. Shame on me. Having said that, though, I have decided to endure your communal scorn rather than immediately resign, for as tempting as it is, I will not return to my beloved boyhood ferret farm in the Lichtensteinian Alps. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…Raymond

Softball: Mystical

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, and as of now, there are still two slots left.

This week’s field fee is just $3, and that includes a post-match professional Tarot Reading as well as a lovingly administered Shamanic Healing in the Kabbalist Tradition…Raymond 845-7552
