Softball: Self-Derivative (Sleepy, Brief, and Jejune)

Dear People,

Congratz to all on last week’s long-awaited return to the moist yak-laden grasses of our beloved Codornices. I must confess that the act of reclaiming such tundra in the gnawing absence of so many cherished regulars left a deep ache within my innards, and yet curiously, I found Jen’s lingering esprit so inspirational that I soon nurtured my initially disheartened contingent to a decisive 9-4 defeat.

In any case, it’s 1AM and I am currently spare of time and zeal, and thus I will have to be a bit brusque in the usual process by which I caress, court, and woo you. Of course, I don’t want this to be misinterpreted as an insolent ‘tude, for I am well aware that aerobic tastes are fickle, and that in point of fact, there’s nothing to stop any of you from moving on to nude Sunday morning perch-fishin down at the Emeryville Pier. And therefore, there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…..Raymond

Softball: Sibs

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, but as of now, there are no longer any slots left. As always, feel free to call about late cancels, or for that matter, just to say hi and discuss the latest theories in geonuclear phonetics.

Please bring $2 for the field, which for this week only, will include a special game appearance by my oldest brother, direct from New York City. He insisted that I not embarrass him, and I’m certainly not going to do so here, but just for the record and in case you forgot, he’s the intimidating New Yorker intellectual whose rapier wit and grandiloquent pen is sadly offset by the pale and spindly legs that have come to symbolize his inevitable "bottom 10%" status in any sport he tries to play….Raymond 845-7552
