Softball: Babel (Drivelings of a Sensory-Overloaded Voyager)

Dear People,

Frantically pecked greetings from Ho Chi Minh City (!), or as the locals still proudly call it---SaiBallgon. Yeah, the passion for softball knows no borders, and here in 'Nam, it's all about the pitching. Or hitting. Or maybe the lingering effects of the war, or the transformative realities of so many free-enterprise zones. I honestly don't know, since Wendy still tells me nothing.

The point is if you're going to travel here with a group of 25 Chinese tourists and a non English-spreaking Hong Kongese tour guide, it may be helpful to have an actual interpreter. This is certainly not to cast liguisitic aspersions, but I would say that Wendy's response to my every request for translation---"Kinda complicated; I'll tell you later"---may have somewhat weakened the informational moorings on which I've been imbibing the broader Vietnamese experience. C'est la vie.

In any case, back to Hong Kong on Wednesday and Berkeleyville City Thursday, and therefore there wil be a game this Sunday at Codornices at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday Morning. Please note; I won't be able to confirm commits until Thursday afternoon at the earliest, so stay calm while I party hard over the Great Pacific....Ray
