Softball: Trade-Offs

Dear People,

Congratz to all on last week’s cheery 24-15 aerobic frolicitude under the cloudless East Bay skies, a patina of winter breeze holding temps to just under 68 degrees (I mention this because I happen to know that as we wallowed warmly, Jen and Mikey were in their transitional Louisville flat, trapped like frantic rasorial lab rats by snow, sleet and arctic-like wind. But hey, houses are cheaper and there’s ZERO cigarette tax, so it’s not as if their moving was actually a mistake).

In any case, my team lost fair and square, yet let history show that the game was tied at 10 in the 6th, and that we only started to crumble when Home-Run Dave---laconic, mysterious and beefy---suddenly began to treat every pitch as a rare opportunity to terrorize the blue-bellied bush-lizards in deep center left. I quickly noticed this because sometimes when I’m alone with my bathroom mirror, I’ll look at my tiny little triceps and I’ll realize that with just a little batting practice and a few thousand steroids, I, too, could swing for the shrubs. So yes, I have some decisions to make, and with the advice of my trainer, reptiligist and the Lord, I will do the right thing. And therefore, there will be a game this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning….Raymond

Softball: Property

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, but as of now, there are no longer any slots left. As always, feel free to call for late cancels, and be sure to check email if weather conditions are ambiguous.

Please bring $2 for the field, which for this week only includes a fixed 30 year mortgage of up to 500K at 2.75% with 0 points, no pre-payment penalties and a fresh garden salad at the close of escrow….Raymond 845-7552

PS: I will be out of town next week and will not be able to organize a game for the following Sunday. Anybody on this list is welcome to contact me if they are up for the task---The pay is spare, it takes longer than you think and rain may destroy all for which you’ve toiled, but at least you’ll earn the general contempt of a lot of your peers.
