Softball: Siddhartha

Dear People,

What can one say about a team that holds a commanding 9-9 lead in the top of the 7th, only to find itself on the losing karmic path of a 22-11 implosion just three innings later? I honestly don’t know, but I do know that sporadic waves of latent ineptitude are an integral part of spiritual growth, and thus if my team had to give up nine runs in the 8th in order to reach a higher plane of athletic Zen, then so be it.

Indeed, when we began that fateful penultimate round, I quickly realized that those on Steve V’s team would suffer if they did not get what they "wanted" (more runs), whereas my people were at peace with the universe no matter what they were about to "receive" (infield river blindness). The point is that sometimes there is no reason for why esprit de suckitude suddenly hits one side and not the other, and yet as the Buddha once said, it’s all aerobically good. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…Raymond
