Softball: The Diversity of Aerobic Desire

Dear People,

Congratz to all on last weekend's breathtaking three inning 14-11, nine touchdown 35-28 paragon of raw rain-soaked inimitable athletic temerity. Yes, there were multiple injuries, and the patina of blood that stained Kleeberger's lush green rubber sheathing will forever warn others that with such recreational intensity comes commensurate risk. Nevertheless, this eruption of bi-sportal passion in the middle of a New England-style ice storm can only serve to strengthen our resolve, for as a traditionally drizzle-fearing people, we now know that we need not panic at the first sight of those ominously sensual nimbostratus clouds.

Having said that, I am well aware that meteorologists are already predicting rain for next Saturday, which I believe would be the 6th wet weekend in a row. Clearly, this is a conspiracy of such diverse and complex origin that we as innocents can never truly understand who they are or what they want. Nevertheless, we can now commit to softball and writhe joyously in it's inherent goodness, knowing that if necessary, the more stout among our people will switch to football, and defy those who would have us all retreat to our warm and cozy houses, tempting as they are with their color TVs and hot cocoa, but ultimately, curious symbols of cowardice, defeatism and unsightly sloth.

Therefore, there will be a softball game this Saturday, February 27th at 12 Noon, at our beloved Kleeberger North, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning. Please make that commit, to both softball AND football, for if it rains yet once again, it's ok to show the world that courage is contagious... Raymond
