Softball: Another Literary Sojourn

Dear People,

In what was perhaps the most grueling 12 innings and three hours in the history of our unaffiliated email-organized community, my team beat Jonny's on the last hit of the game, 22-21. And yet, ironically, while Jonny-the-loser got to go home and enjoy a fine ale, a succulent home-cooked meal and the loving support of his friends, family and woman, I soon found myself stuck in my sister's dark and dank rat-infested Seattle-basement office ("The Dungeon"), where I now secretly peck these very words. Yes, God is my copilot, but please, help me get the fuck out of here.

In any case, while I would love to woo you further, I simply have no freedom, courage or privacy to do so. The fact is that I must now return to one of those compelling sibling debates in which I bitterly make the case for "lubricative" over "lubricated" while good 'ol sis and I finalize that utterly fascinating (Chapter 3) distinction between slippery cervical fluid and merely lubricative, yes, lubricative, vaginal sensation. Sure, call me a sicko if you must, but I happen to think that our female teenage readership should be treated like people and not Plymouths. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this SUNDAY at 3PM (which is like Saturday at 11AM except that it's actually 28 hours later), IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning….Raymond

Softball: Uncertainty

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this SUNDAY at 3:00PM, and as of now, it is full. You will need to check email if it rains a lot between now and then or conditions are ambiguous. As always, please contact me ASAP if you committed and need to cancel, and feel free to check later about any new slots.

This week’s field fee is just $3, and that includes a complimentary $10 line of credit at .25% below prime OR a fresh garden salad with capers and dill…Raymond 845-7552

Softball: Sunday 2PM: Another Grueling Judgement Call ;-(

Dear People,

Because it’s already raining hard in the City and the drizzle here is becoming ever more contemptible, I have no choice but to cancel today’s game. Yes, we have been hosed as a people yet one more time, but in fairness, it’s not like we don’t already know that the universe—cold, dark and annoyingly vast—is inexplicably hostile to our chosen aerobic love.

Patience….Raymond

PS: Before people who live close to Codornices start sending me hate-mail, please remember that some players drive in from strange and distant locales.
