Softball: Some Musings on Who we are and What we Do

Dear People,

First of all, let me say that I am not naïve, and indeed, I am well aware that whenever I cancel a game, many amongst us slip back into our usual patterns of illicit drug use, petty crime and lurid acts of shameless harlotry. I understand this (Indeed, I also have a mortgage to pay), and yet in fairness, I simply must balance the inherent risks of so many unexpected free hours with the often greater perils that come with playing in the rain—Specifically, broken limbs, the common cold, the uncommon cold, and penicillin-resistant chlamydia. Life is tradeoffs, and I think the sooner you accept this, the less miserable you’ll be.

Having said that, some of you have asked if I could make some rainy-day back-up plans, in which those who desire could at least gather for some communal solace. Among the various suggestions, I happen to like retiring to the Albany Bowl or Triple Rock in order to hit the lanes, play chess or just sample some fine Bavarian lagers. If nothing else, any of those three would provide a more rigorous aerobic workout than we ever get at softball.

Oh sure, kiniseological truth is often stark and discomforting, but what in life isn’t? I think you see my point, and therefore there will be a game at Codornices this SUNDAY at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…Raymond

Softball: Brains

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11, and as of now, it is full. As always, please contact me asap if you need to cancel, and for those who still want in, feel free to ask later about newly opened slots.

This week’s field fee is just $3, and that includes a rare honorary Doctorate in Biomolecular Engineering…Raymond 845-7552

Softball: Sunday 9:58AM: Courage!!!

Just got back from the homeland—Listen, if I've said it once, I've said it 1,000 times: Cowardice is for pussies.

If you have them, please bring rakes, brooms and whatever else would be useful to get rid of a few small puddles in the infield. Otherwise, playable, sunny and glorious/See ya at 11....Ray
