Softball: Pretzel Logic (Plus: Live with our Moral Backbone!)

Dear People,

Chris Fure’s team barely staved off my own, 38-15, which is all the more extraordinary given that we only sucked at hitting and fielding. In any case, I know that many of you are now expecting some good’ol moral consistency, given last week’s somewhat blunt analysis of Jonny’s captainship. Indeed, I did write that “...all we can know for sure is that fresh athletic sturgeon rots from the head down, which clearly means that Jonny, and only Jonny, is fully accountable for his team's calamitous failure.”

Well, I hear ya, and yet when I reflect on the parallels between these last two games, I just don’t see it. Yes, Jonny was now on my side so of course the hemorrhaging continued, but in fact, his overall performance was utterly adequate. No, my friends, the metaphor of rancid little fish-heads can only go so far, and I think we all understand this. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…Ray

PS: I won’t have email acceess to early afternoon. Stay calm.

Rare Rental Opportunity!

Dear Everyone:

If you or anyone you know is looking for a place to live, read on…

I, Nanci Pecker, the moral backbone of our community, am seeking a housemate of the highest caliber (give or take a couple of decibels). The lucky renter gets one bedroom of his/her own with a large closet and a newly remodeled bathroom (to be shared sometimes), full use of the living room/dining area w/fireplace, beautiful new eat-in kitchen, washer/dryer, and lovely backyard area. Some storage in garage is possible as well. April 1 is the available date. Lease can be month to month, although a 6 month lease is preferable.

The house is in Emeryville. Rent is $800.00 Cable/DSL and utilities are additional as is garbage. The companionship of two really goofy dogs is free, although donations are accepted.

Please email me if interested at Nanci_g_p@yahoo.com for any info or questions you may have.
