Softball: Glorious Sun, Dryer of Mud

Dear People,

Despite my intensive efforts at humanizing the Kafkaesque bureaucracy at UC Berkeley’s Recreational Sports Facility, a trio of surly clerks informed me yesterday that Kleeberger would be taken all weekend long, in direct contradiction of their previous assurances to the contrary. Reacting in shock, I practically groveled on bended knee for the simple salve of administrative grace, yet alas, my only reward was the suggestively inflamed skinage of my tender left patella. I must confess that sometimes I tremble when I reflect on the incivility of the modern condition.

Fortunately though, the city of Berkeley will soon reopen all of its fields, and therefore there will be a game at lush and wonderful SAN PABLO PARK this Sunday at 1PM, IF I get enough commits by tomorrow morning…..Raymond

Softball: At Long Last….

Dear People,

There will be a game this Sunday at 1PM at San Pablo Field #1, which is located at the corner of Ward and Park (a few blocks North and East of San Pablo & Ashby). I’m sure the old-timers among you will instantly recognize the sheer vastness of the gorgeous tundra, with each blade of grass a proud and verdant reflection of the tumultuous West Berkeley experience.

Please bring the usual accoutrements and $2 for the field, which as always, includes ample free parking and your choice of a braised onion scone or a soothing one week tour of duty with the Taiwanese Navy…..Raymond
