Softball: Our Finest Hour (with apologies to Churchill)

Dear People,

First of all, I am not "proud" of the fact that we only played for three innings and 42 minutes before spastically fleeing the nimbostratus clouds that started peeing wet and scary drizzle-drops on our panicky little heads. Still, I don’t think that we were a bunch of pussies in the technical sense of the term, and even if we did lack a certain stout resolve, it’s not like the Navy Seals were looking to us as a major source of recruits.

The point is that I still have absolute faith in this community, and that’s not going to change simply because we’re an eerily precise hydrophobic metaphor for why entire societies collapse. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 3PM (which is just like 11AM except it’s four hours later), IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning...Raymond

Softball: A Bad Tech Day

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 3PM, and as of now there are still three slots left. $3 for the field, because life is
expensive, brutish and short.

Not only that, but my dumb-ass computer just imploded, which means my email access will be iffy over the next few days. Indeed, I am now writing these very words from the Boalt Law Library, where Ramona and I look forward to all your legal queries; Multilateral trade treaties, old Texas fornication code, legislative history of the infield fly rule---We find it all.

In the meantime, all commits and cancels should be done by PHONE, and if climatic conditions are ambiguous on Sunday, you may have to call for clarification.

Courage...Raymond 845-7552
