Softball: The Nuisance of Cybercorrosion

Dear People,

Congratz to all on last week’s won-on-the-last-hit 19-18 see-sawing paragon of athletic majesty in its most spine-tingling form. Ken’s team was the technical victor, but my side had more joie de vivre, and indeed, as Raul’s game-ending three-run homer rocketed 2000 yards past Craig’s discombobulated little head, I couldn’t help thinking that we had redefined the triumph of defeat. Perhaps this concept is better expressed by Wordsworth and Coleridge (what isn’t?), but I think you see my point, if not the joie itself.

In any case, I have no time to sate your craving for literary release, but I do need to mention again that if you commit to a game and I do not get back to you by the end of the day with an OK, then you should email me again by typing in my address by hand (NOT responding to the group letter), or by leaving a phone message. The hard reality is that the cantankerous geeks at AOL have never liked softball and probably never will, and thus they continue to toy with the organizational foundations of our very community. Of course we are the ancienbt Hebrews of the unaffiliated-email-organized leagues, and thus we simply won’t be intimidated by the cold clammy hand of corporate aerobiphobia. And therefore there will be a game at SAN PABLO #2 this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…Raymond

Softball: Beauty

Dear People,

There will be a game at SAN PABLO #2 this Sunday at 11, and as of now, there are still six slots left. Please remember that if you committed but did not get an OK back from me, that means I never got your email and you’ll need to write back again, hand typing in my address rather than replying directly to the community letter. Hopefully, this will be fixed by next week.

In any case, this week’s field fee is just $2, and that includes a complimentary post-game herbal facial with lash and brow tinting, deep pore cleansing and Brazilian wax…Ray 845-7552
