Softball: Your Fearless Judeo-Christian Good-Time Sport

Dear People,

My sympathies to all of you for once again facing another week without the minimal aerobic release required to bring clarity and succor to your otherwise pointless lives. For the record, though, my first priority is your physical health and security, and if that requires a denial of suckitude, than so be it.

In any case, I was starting to think that with the bitter cold rains and the unfortunate city policy mishigos and the fact that Mikey and Jenny are now living 2,200 miles away from the lush Codornices tundra that they once called loam, perhaps this is not the time to try and organize another game (see MichaelandJenny.com). But then my eyes started to tear up as I thought about the insidious effects of inertia AND the fact that tomorrow is the start of Passover, the great Hebraic holiday in which we Jews celebrate our freedom from pharaoh. That little bastard never let us play organized sport for fear that we’d kick some serious ancient-Egyptian ass if we ever had the chance to practice.

Of course it’s more than just that. As some of you know, this Friday marks the 1, 970th anniversary of the death of Jesus Christ, give or take a decade, and just two days later marks the 1,970th anniversary of the Christmeister’s resurrection, give or take a really impressive leap in faith. Of course when Jesus pushed aside those massive stone boulders that covered the door to his tomb, he didn’t worry about whether or not he had the requisite liability insurance. Personally, I don’t think he cared, if you get my drift, and therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…..Raymond

Ray, the matter has been resolved. Intermittent softball field reservations will not require a certificate of insurance. League play or reservations of more than 3 dates at one time will require insurance. Thanks for your patience.

Softball: The Fruits of Validation

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, and as of now, there is a bare minimum quorum of 16 players (six slots left). This means that you are allowed and even encouraged to commit your non-community friends, paramours and embittered former business partners.

Please bring $2 for the field, which once again guarantees us the sovereignty we crave, and for this week only, includes a celebratory post-game Easter scone of fennel, curds and whey….Ray
