Softball: Further Reflections at 45

Dears,

Jonny’s team held off my own 16-13, and while I certainly won’t speculate on where ultimate fault lies, I do know that my side would’ve won had Franklin stopped trying to snag blistering line drives with his sternum instead of his mitt. The fact is that even Marcellus understands this, and thus at age 10, his own fielding is already more seasoned than the cherished klutzo in question.

In fairness, of course, this merely highlights what I’ve regretfully come to accept as a stark reality of the human condition; Like those darling whippersnappers who compete in woman’s gymnastics, master a complex foreign tongue or perform corrective surgery of the lower uvula, we as a softball-playing people will generally peak in the final years of our pitiful pre-pubescence.

I know that sounds harsh, but in the grand gestalt of life’s rich pageant, I happen to think that nothing is more satisfying than the soothing temporal transitions of cellular decay. And therefore there will be a game at San Pablo #2 this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…Raymond

Softball: Decisions in Process

Dear People,

There will be a game at San Pablo #2 this Sunday at 11AM, and as of now there are still four slots left.

It’s 1AM and I’m just too sleepy to think of what you’re $2 field fee includes this week, but you can be darn sure it’s going to be either delicious, practical or lurid…Raymond 845-7552
