Softball: Teflon

Dear People,

Somehow my team lost again, 14-12, and while I think that means I’ve been on the losing side in nine out of the last ten games, I am still utterly convinced that my captainship remains on the cusp of true greatness. Indeed, my side would have won had Nanci not gotten on base virtually every time she batted, and really, how does one "defend" against basic violations in the laws of aerobic physics?

In any case, I was going to cancel next week’s match so that we could all continue wallowing in endless mourning and hagiography, but then it suddenly occurred to me that dying in and of itself does not make a fatuous pseudologue any less of a Bozo than he was before. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…. Raymond

PS. A quick heads-up: I will be out of town on the 20th, so if you’re determined to have a game, you’ll need a stout and determined volunteer-organizer who thrives on the contempt of his cherished peers.

Softball: Open Enrollment

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, and as of now, there are still SIX slots left. You are therefore encouraged to commit any of the great non-community peoples, even if they are amongst those who publicly scorn the decadence of our aerobic values (To be sure, we all know that those are the very ones who secretly yearn to be part of our ilk).

This week’s field fee is just $2, and that includes a generous buffet of seasonal greens and taffy…Raymond 845-7552
