Softball: Return to the Promised Land

Dear People,

Congratz to all on last week's 22-11 exercise in dazzling competitive ineptitude. Of course the score does not capture the countless individual acts of athletic heroism that were seen on both teams, but for those who of us who were there, we will always know.

Unfortunately, Kleeberger is taken all of next weekend. However, I am delighted to announce that I should be able to reserve Codornicies Park (On Euclid, across from the Rose garden), and thus we will be returning to our original homeland this Saturday, June 13th, at 5PM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning.

For those of you who are relatively new, hesitant or simply frightened, I should point out that Codornices has been completely replanted, and that the outfield is now a huge and gorgeous prairie of the finest freshly hewn grazing sods, as tender and green as grasshopper stew. The infield also looks improved, and while I can't be positive, I'm pretty sure that it's been redone in imported virgin clays......Raymond

PS: Assuming there's a game, I'll give instructions to the field next time. Also note that there will be a $2 fee for the reservation, but to compensate, parking is free and plentiful; Is life tradeoffs, or what?
