Softball: A Last Ditch Friday Morning Appeal to Conscience

Dear People,

It's Thursday night and we are still SIX players short for a game. It is once again time to look deep into your inner child and do the right thing. This is no time to let the momentum die, indeed, to let the very notion of electronic athletic democracy wilt on the pristine synthetic greens of our most cherished communal hopes, dashed by the indifference of despair, leaving North Kleeberger field all the more vulnerable to an attack of parasitic-soccer-playing yahoos exploiting our very lack of presence. It's not right, and you know it. Make that commit. Do it for Shoeless Joe Jackson. Do it for the children. My god, if they can cut capital gains AND save medicare in Washington, there must certainly be at least16 people in the Bay Area who could challenge their very souls and say to themselves "Yeah, Mussolinni wouldn't have committed, but that's the whole point, he was a fascist, and I believe in democracy, and god dam it, I'm going to make that commit." Bless you...Ray
