Softball: The Cantata of the Bitter Herbs (Part 2)

Dear Fellow Athleticists,

While last Saturday's 19-10 game showed a tad less competitive vigor than previous outings, every individual played with such inimitable class and depth of character that ultimately, the triumph was ours as a collective whole.

Unfortunately, Kleeberger Field is reserved by intramural Cal teams for all of next weekend. In addition, the city of Berkeley claims all of their grass fields are also occupied. Sometimes my blood boils when I think what has been done to us as a people, chased from one softball field after another, never being allowed to settle in a long term homeland of our own. Needless to say, at times like this I draw strength from my Hebraic roots.

The good news is that I was able to spy ahead to Kleeberger's following Saturday schedule, and with a little luck, I should be able to reserve it next Monday. In the meantime, stay strong and stout, and remember that just because you play softball, no one has the right to disparage your inherent worth. In solidarity...Raymond
