Softball: Nervous

Dear People,

My team took down Jeff W’s, 23-17, as if we were a pride of famished wildebeests about to feast on a ton of freshly waylaid river rhino. Ironically, we had initially floundered badly, but while resting in the dugout in the 3rd, Anthony did what all athletic heroes do to rally their teammates; Yes, he joyously jumped up to begin an inspirational chin up—only to fall flat on his rock-hard little noggin as the metal bar gave way. Of course I’m delighted to report that the Antman was fine, though after seeing the lump on his slightly bloodied skull, I grew faint, started to swoon and then nearly threw up.

Fortunately, I recovered quickly, and even better, Anthony went on to dominate the game. He hit a series of multibase line drives, drove in countless runs (or maybe two—I don’t remember), and most importantly, snagged every fly ball to left for the rest of the game, proving once again that if you want to reach your maximum aerobic potential, there is nothing more efficient than a really frisky encounter with your own cerebellum.

In any case, I was going to conclude with a fairly blunt critique of Hilary’s performance in tonight’s Presidential debate, for like many of you, I am troubled by her consistent triangulation on the critical issues of the day. The fact is that in the course of just two minutes, she came out both for and against the Infield Fly Rule for undocumented workers.

I think the American people deserve better, and I would explain how, except that I can’t because just a few minutes ago, I endured a brief but despicable 5.6 earthquake that was apparently centered near San Jose, though I’m pretty sure it was actually centered directly below my dining room table. Indeed, I grew faint, started to swoon and then nearly threw up, but I’m nothing if not stout, and therefore there will be a game at San Pablo #2 this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…Raymond

Softball: Dufus Alert (An Hour More to Snooze!)

Dear People,
There will be a game at San Pablo #2 this Sunday at 11AM, and as of now, there are still five slots left. Please note that Daylight Savings ends Sunday at 1AM, which means you should set your clocks back one hour before going to sleep. If you fail to do so, you’ll arrive at the park one hour too early, thereby humiliating your family, your dog and most of all yourself.

$3 for the field, because there’s no such thing as free verdant pulchritude…Ray 845-7552
