Softball: A Little Midterm Schadenfreude

Dear People,

Jeff’s team staved off my own 20-18, in one of those long, lingering paragons of sensual competitive excellence. I don’t really know what I mean by that, but I do know that in the top of the 7th, J.T. made the 5th greatest catch in the history of our community, and the only one in the top 19 that involved a multi-yard stumbling-flail with a breathtaking backward bobble. Had he thrown in a triple Lutz, he would’ve snagged the gold.

In any case, and as you know, this softball-based listserv is dedicated to the dissemination of nonpartisan aerobic inspiration, and thus I will not besmirch the focused tone of these missives by gratuitous, crass or sarcastic off-topic commentary. In fact, it just doesn’t matter that as I type these very words, the fine folks at CNN.com are now projecting that the honorable Rick Santorum will not be returning to Congress.

Of course, just because I’m nonpartisan doesn’t mean that I don’t grieve, for in all candor, this news will soon cause me to shed the tears of 1,000 discarded Pennsylvanian blastocysts. Indeed, and like so many of you, I still happen to believe that the United States Senate needs at least one strong and clarion voice that unapologetically supports the robust traditional values of late Medieval Europe. And therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning…Raymond

Softball: My Continuing Electoral Mode

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, and of now, it is full. As always, please let me know me ASAP if you committed and need to cancel, and feel free to contact me later if you are looking for reopened slots.

This week’s field fee is just $3, which I think is a small price to pay for a fiscally prudent pay-as-you-go investment in the lush verdant grasses upon which we’ll forever thrive and writhe….Raymond 845-7552
