Softball: Laconic (Just 10 More Years to Fluency!)

Dear People,

Greetings from the wondrous Fang Yiu Hotel in beautiful downtown Guanzhou (!), where the passion for softball is more fervid than at any time since the end of the Han Dynasty. Unfortunately, the local internet provider appears to be from that same era, and thus this will have to be quick:

There will be a game at Codornices this SUNDAY at 11AM, IF I get enough players by this Friday morning. I will do everything I can to send out individual confirmations as well as a general follow-up letter, but if you commit and fail to hear from me, leave a message at my house in Berkeley so I can confirm you’re in on Sunday morning.

Happy Thanksgiving…..Raymond 845-7552

Softball: You’re Always Reliable Holiday Sport

Dear People,

There will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11AM, but unfortunately, as of now it is full. Feel free to call me that morning to see if there are cancels.

Please bring $2 for the field, which for this week only includes a pair of earphones, a delightfully sensual goose-feather pillow and a dinner mint, all lovingly absconded from the fine folks at Singapore Airlines.

Happy Thanksgiving from Hong Kong...Ray

Softball: 9AM Sunday Morning: Total Bummer ;-(

Dear People,

With a heavy post-Sino heart, I must cancel today’s game because the city of Berkeley has closed Codornices. While I would normally be inclined to resist, the recent rains have indeed transformed the outfield into a putrid suck-swamp of malarial despair. Yuck.

Stay tuned for next week….Raymond
