Softball: Every Commit an Act of Principle

Dear People,

Congratz to all on last Saturday's 20-18 demonstration in sheer athletic majesticism. Indeed, certain performances were so breathtaking that I now fear that it is only a matter of time until many of you are drafted into the so-called professional leagues, where the pay may be better, but the soul aches for the simple purity of a tender community such as ours. And of course, once you lose that, that can’t be bought back on a mere $3,500,000 per year.

In any case, there will be a game next Saturday at 12 Noon, at (North) Kleeberger, IF I get enough commits by this Thursday night. As you know, we have recently shown that we are willing to take great risks, challenging both the onslought of pounding rain and the frisky hostility of the curiously acerbic soccer-playing peoples. In the months ahead, friends and lovers will no doubt taunt you for playing softball in the dead of winter, but you will have to follow your heart, and persevere in the wake of ever growing calls for your incarceration.

Remember, if you're one of the first 10 commits this week, Saturday's game will include your choice of any two garden vegetables....Raymond
