Softball: A Brief Political Swerve (The Usual Drivel as a Window into my Respect for Perfect Replication)

Dear People,

My team held off Chris Fure's in a grueling 24-21 slugfest that reconfirmed the power of the indomitable athletic spirit. By this I mean that we overcame the fact that the Furinator's contingent had every kinesiological and kinetic advantage, from the galvanizing mojo of Kira's instant post-trampled recovery at 1st (as well as her awesome overslide past 2nd just half an inning later!) to the fearsome one-two punch of Steve and Jeffery Powers, with their muscley Missouri-bred potential for raw Homeric mayhem. Yeah, I have no qualms in repurposing the adjectivial forms of ancient Greek icons for my own narrative velleities, and if that makes you feel indelicate or even morally soiled, then perhaps you shouldn't be reading this.

In any case, the kicker was that Steve's terrific s.o. Jessica made her community debut, and she did so with her equally way cool sister Blaire, who I quickly realized came from the same split zygote that laid the foundation for both of their gestational roots! That's right; For the first time in the history of this league, there were identical twins playing amongst us, and while I can't “prove” that the Jesster used her teleprophetic gifts-specifically as catcher to warn her sib at 2nd as to precisely where my batters would hit the next pitch-I happen to know a thing or two about paranormal procreative eggology. So yeah, I can assure you that that's what we were up against, and yet with Ameer and Raul leading the way, my offense was still robust, focused, and truth be told, curiously oblivious to the unprecedented psychic warfare that damn near destroyed us.

The point is that this community is an organically inclusive one, and just because so much of the public responds to those twinaphobic religiocretin nutjobs who shamelessly diss gays, illegals and identicals (including those who use their eerie teleprophetic powers to tweak recreational outcomes), we're simply not going to stray from our heritage of tolerance. Indeed, I think we can all agree that from Jesus on the Mount to Koufax on the Mound, history's most enlightened players have always embraced an ethic of unabashed liberal athleticism, and therefore there will be a game at Codornices this Sunday at 11, IF I get enough commits by this Friday morning….Raymond
